Myrtie Faye Johnson, age 78, of Maher Drive, Morehead, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at the home of her niece, Hurline Johnson Jarvis and husband Kerry Dale, on Grahn Road, Olive Hill, where she lived for nearly two years. Born April 8, 1939, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of Bert and Dora Cooper Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Celia Butler and husband Dan, and four brothers, Roscoe Johnson and wife Jewell, Sidney Johnson, who passed away at age three, John Henry Thomas Johnson and wife Georgia, and Vinton Johnson and wife Mabel. Myrtie is survived by two brothers, Clinton Johnson and wife May of Flemingsburg and Hurl C. Johnson and wife Wynonia of Hillsboro, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and former employee of Charlie’s Restaurant, The Weenie Shack, and McDonalds. For many years, she was the loyal caregiver to Glenn, Herb, and Sam Hutchinson. Myrtie was a member of the Grahn Happy Hollow Community Church (formerly Grahn Nazarene Church). Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Elijah Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation for Myrtie Johnson is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
