MAYSVILLE | Wilma Beckett Mattingly Nichols, 85, died June 6, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Nichols was born in Fleming County, on Oct. 4, 1926, to the late Otha and Myrtle Smalley Beckett.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Brooks Mattingly; and her second husband, Wesley Preston Nichols Jr.

She attended First Christian Church. Mrs. Nichols enjoyed playing cards, golf, painting and arranging flowers.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by a son, Steve (Charlotte) Mattingly of Corinth, Texas; and a step-son, Ronald (Pamela) Nichols of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; three grandchildren, Zack Mattingly, Erin Mattingly and Christopher Mattingly; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Manford (Virgie) Beckett of Lewisburg.

Her son, Gary Mattingly of Montgomery, Texas, also died on June 6, 2012.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Doug (Ginny) Beckett, Clayton Beckett and Pern Beckett; and one sister, Virgie Lance.

She spent her last months being taken care of by several special caretakers.

Services for Wilma Nichols will be at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home, Monday, June 11 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Steve Lesher officiating.

Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
