Mr. Orris Jay Littleton, Age 74 of Whispering Oaks, Morehead, passed away Tuesday morning, January 27, 2009 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born March 29, 1934 to the late Arch and Lorna Lewis Littleton. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Littleton Puckett on Sept. 7, 2004, one brother Guy Littleton and two sisters, June Richards and Jewell Howard.

Orris is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mina Butler Littleton, whom he married January 27, 1954; three sons, Archie Littleton of Morehead, Philip Littleton and his wife Patricia of Morehead. Rickie Littleton and his wife Elaine of Clearfield. Three brothers, Cephas Littleton of Morehead, his twin brother, Dorris Littleton of Carlisle, Ohio and Phillip Littleton of Frankfort, Ohio. Four sisters, Agnes Back of Dayton, Ohio, Fern Hamm, Ponzell Helterbrand and Teresa Helterbrand all of Morehead.

Five Grandchildren, Josh Puckett, Jason Littleton, Gabe Littleton, Morgan Littleton and Carrie Litleton Apgar. Three Great-Grandchildren, Cody Apgar, Tanner Mason and Bennett Littleton.

Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Orris was a farmer and a retired Rowan County School Bus driver. He was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church for over 54 years, where he was also a deacon. He was a member of the Club of Hearts and enjoyed fishing and caring for his cattle

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Elder Cephas Littleton, Rev. Jim DeAtley and Elder Larry Littleton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery at Cranston.

Visitation is after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home.

Serving as Pall Bearers will be Gabe Littleton, Jason Littleton, Josh Puckett, Sam Apgar, Wesley Helterbrand and Jimmy Helphenstine. Honorary Pall Bearers: Dr. Ed Scott, Ernie Lewis, Bill Cooper, Blane Kissisk and Glenn Stephens.
