Charles Lee David McGlone, 83, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Rowan County to the late Ezekiel Harvey & Sara Iva Jane Moore McGlone. Charles worked as a heavy equipment operator until starting his own custom dozer service in 1980 which ran until he retired. He was also a member of the Flemingsburg Masonic Lodge 112. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lena Hickerson McGlone; sons, Anthony (Joan) McGlone and David (Melinda) McGlone; grandchildren, Tony (Pam) McGlone, Travis (Jessica) McGlone, Darrin (Sarah) McGlone, Brian (Krys) McGlone, Whitney (Rick) Wilson, and Cody (Kaitlyn) Shannon; great grandchildren, Andrea, Brianna, Madison, Maggie, T.J., Makenzie, Adalyn, Karlee McGlone, and Reese Wilson; siblings, Julia Benton and Margaret McGlone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Violla Christine Cobb, Ezekiel Harvey McGlone, Jr., Tennie Birtha Pearl McGlone, Charlotte Pence, Alonzo Steve McGlone, Wilmarth Ovid Pence, Willard Farris McGlone, Freddie Reno McGlone, Launita Kay Whitt and Ezekiel Paul McGlone. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
