Richard Lee Morrison, 88. of Ironton, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Carter County, Ky. native was born November 2, 1927 a son of the late Robert Lee Morrison and Ethel Thompson Morrison.

Mr. Morrison was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran serving from 1945 through 1948 and received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon. He retired in 1981 from the maintenance department at the Ironton Coke Plant and he and his wife were the former owners and operators of The Cake Shop on 5th and Pine St. in Ironton. He was of the Baptist faith.

half-brothers, Roy Morrison and Ray Morrison



Graveside services will be 2:00P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Woodland Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #8850 and Rev. Richard Carter officiating. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 12:45 until 1:45P.M. at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio.
