Volga resident, Bertha Trimble Stambaugh, 92, died Wednesday, February 12 in
Humana Suburban Hospital, Louisville. Mrs. Stambaugh was born December
19, 1899 in Johnson County, the daughter of Sanford Lee and Sarah Ann
McKenzie Blanton. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was
preceded in death by two husband, Rexford Trimble, 1959 and Walter
Stambaugh, 1981; and one son, Rexford Trimble, Jr., 1926. Surviving are
one son, John Trimble of Ashland; one stepson, Wayne Stambaugh of Grove
City, OH; three daughters, Anna Williams of Columbus, OH, Victoria Allen
of Louisville and Betty Burchett of Eastwood; one sister, Verna Butler
of Paintsville; and six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, one
step granddaughter and one step great grandson. Funeral services were
held Saturday, December 15 in Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Elder
J. T. Bailey and Rev. Lee Going officiating. Burial was in Blanton
Cemetery at Volga. Pallbearers were John D. Williams, Lynn E. Williams,
David E. Burchett, Rexford L. Trimble, George "Bud" Blanton and Ronald
L. Lemaster.
