Buell Blanton, 63, died Thursday, October 11, at his Oil Springs home. Mr. Blanton was born August 12, 1916, in Johnson County, son of the late Noah Kendrick and Nollie Lemaster Blanton, of Oil Springs. He was a retired motor inspector for R & M, Springfield, OH and a member of the United Baptist Church. His first wife Hazel Estep Blanton, preceded him in death January 30, 1968. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Chloie Caudill Blanton; four sons, Harold, Urbana, OH, Kenneth and Wendell, Mechanicsburg, OH and SPC 4 Arnold, U.S. Army, Korea; two step sons, Eldon Caudill and Phillip Caudill, Oil Springs; two daughters, Ann Bethel, Springfield, OH, and Carol Thurston, Dallas, Tx,; a step daughter, Linda Blair of Oil Springs; and a brother, Paul Blanton of Volga. Funeral services held Monday, October 15 in Caudill Fork United Baptist Church at Oil Springs with Elders James H. Blair, Lonza Reed, and Buell Ferguson officiating. Burial was in Estep Cemetery, Flat Gap, with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald October 17, 1979
