CHARLES ORVILLE "BUSTER" PUGH, age 94, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Friday, March 9, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Lawrence, Indiana, on September 20, 1923, to the late Charles Orville Pugh, Sr., and Emma Agnes Rawlings Pugh. He enlisted in the United Stated Army in 1942 as a member of the Army Air Corps and then opted to transition into the United States Air Force after World War II, where he achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 before retiring his military career in 1970. He was a 70-year Mason. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Ruth Shimfessel Pugh; a son, David Charles Pugh; four brothers; five sisters, and a special cat, Condoleezza Marie Rice. He is survived by: three daughters, Amy Carol Pugh Boohaker, Janet Louise (Donald Hardwick) Pugh and Beverly Ellen (Darrell) Pugh Geist; a brother; a sister, Vilma "Jay" Murphy; two grandchildren, Beverly Ellen Pugh and Audrey Carol Pugh; and a special cat, Smokey. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
