Edgar Millard Pennington, 85, of Kentucky Highway 801 North, Morehead, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at his home.

He was born on October 7, 1929 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Arthur G. and Elsie Harris Pennington.

Mr. Pennington was a retired construction worker and farmer.

He was a member of the Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church and he enjoyed horses, farming and stock car races.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kahi Eddie Pennington, who passed away on October 19, 1996 and two brothers, Lowell Pennington and Medford Pennington.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Opal Littleton Pennington, whom he married on April 18, 1953, one son, Mitchell Thomas (Teresa) Pennington of Medley, West Virginia, two daughters, Marsha Lynn Black (James Price) and Twila E. Barker all of Morehead, three brothers, Vanzel Pennington of Ohio, Donald Pennington and Denvil Pennington both of Morehead, one sister, Fostella Winkle of Richmond, Indiana, nine grandchildren, Brent Pennington, Ryan Pennington, Chad Black, Andy Black, Elisha Gibson, Daniel Travis Barker, Christin Nicole Smith, Jonathan D. Barker and Kahila Marie Lewis, nine great-grandchildren, Samantha Black, Madison Barker, Johnny Thomas Leadingham, Abigail Smith, Gabriella Barker, Gracie Lynn Gibson, Emily Smith, Ethan Smith and Elizabeth Smith and his canine friend, Blossom.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 :00 P.M. Monday, July 27 2015 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is after 12:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
