Hazel Posey, 81, a resident of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly 
Sept. 24, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.<br><br>She was born March 12, 1930 in Wetmore, Kan., to the late Estel and Hallie (Spiker) Plank.<br><br>She
 had been employed at Western Electric in Indianapolis for 14 years. 
Mrs. Posey had baked cakes and worked as a caterer for many years. She 
was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and the American Legion
 Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, antiques and spending time with her 
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.<br><br>Survivors include her 
sons: Rick and wife, Mary, Sipes of Muncie; Mark Posey of Knightstown, 
Randy and wife, Jayana, Posey of Lewisville; and Brett and wife, Cindy, 
Posey of Spiceland; a daughter: Terri Sipes of Knightstown; 11 
grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great 
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.<br><br>She was 
preceded in death by her first husband, Ora F. Sipes; her second 
husband, Frederick Eugene Posey; and two brothers, Gary and Danny Plank.<br><br>Services
 will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown 
Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating.<br><br>Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.<br><br>Friends
 may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.
