Hazel Posey, 81, a resident of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly
Sept. 24, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.
She was born March 12, 1930 in Wetmore, Kan., to the late Estel and Hallie (Spiker) Plank.
She
had been employed at Western Electric in Indianapolis for 14 years.
Mrs. Posey had baked cakes and worked as a caterer for many years. She
was a member of the Knightstown Christian Church and the American Legion
Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, antiques and spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her
sons: Rick and wife, Mary, Sipes of Muncie; Mark Posey of Knightstown,
Randy and wife, Jayana, Posey of Lewisville; and Brett and wife, Cindy,
Posey of Spiceland; a daughter: Terri Sipes of Knightstown; 11
grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and three great
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her first husband, Ora F. Sipes; her second
husband, Frederick Eugene Posey; and two brothers, Gary and Danny Plank.
Services
will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown
Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating.
Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
Friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 27, at the funeral home.
