NOTE BY DKT: The Marriage Records of Carter County show that Lucinda Enox (Enix) married William H. Hamilton on December 22, 1862. The Flat Fork Cemetery listings on the Carter page show Lucinda Hamilton July 14, 1841 to June 5, 1932. William H. Hamilton buried beside her is shown as January 27, 1842 to June 6, 1924. There are a large number of Hamilton’s buried at Flat Fork who might be related. A notation on The Old Cemetery Index states that she is the daughter of Amariah and Matilda Hamm Enix. The 1850 Census of Carter County would seem to confirm this statement. It shows 9 year old Lucinda in the family of Amariah (33 years old) and Matilda Enoch (31 years old), both born in Kentucky. They are living next to several “Ham” families. Her parents are both buried in the Enix Cemetery (Enix-Sloan Cemetery). Her father’s full name was Amariah Watson Enix. For more information on this family one should look at this cemetery on the Carter page since Bruce Logan has added additional information on this family.
