Joyce Carole Littleton Johnson Farrar, age 69, of Luling, Texas, formerly of
Rowan County, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at
Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Texas.
Born May 6,
1943, in Rowan County, Kentucky, Joyce is the daughter of Violet
Sturgill Littleton of Apex, North Carolina, and Shirley Allen Littleton,
who passed away September 14, 1994.
Joyce briefly attended
Morehead State University before moving to Cincinnati to work. She
retired after a long career with the Clermont County Public Library. In
her early years with the library she was one of the first women drivers
of the 'bookmobile.' She was very well known and loved by her co-workers
and patrons alike. Joyce and her husband moved to Texas in 2005 to be
near her two daughters and grandchildren and where the weather was
milder. She became a fast favorite of everyone she met.
In
addition to her mother, Joyce is survived by her husband, John D.
Farrar; one son, Greg Johnson of Cutler Bay, Florida; three daughters,
Michelle Balside of Amelia, Ohio, Kim Weisbrod of Luling, Texas, and
Polly Duron of Seguin, Texas; one brother, Mike Littleton of Apex, North
Carolina, and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Northcutt & Son
Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Elder Cephas Littleton
officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation is
from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Northcutt
& Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
