Boone-Nickell Funeral Home Willis McRoberts (December 16, 1920 - August 11, 2013) Willis McRoberts, 92, of Elizaville, passed away Sunday August 11, 2013 at The Fleming County Hospital. He was born December 16, 1920 in Sabetha, Kansas to the late William and Martha (Roberts) McRoberts. Willis was a World War II Veteran serving from 1943 until 1945, where he served in the Air Force in South Pacific as a airplane handler/mechanic and as a Military Policeman. He is retired from Standard Register in Dayton, Ohio where he worked for 25 years. He ran a dairy farm in Sherburne, KY after his retirement until 1982 when he moved to the Elizaville Community until his death. Willis was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. An excellent provider, tremendous protector and superior leader to his entire family. He was loyal beyond words. Knew no stranger and welcomed everyone with a smile and a warm heart. Willis is preceded in death by his parents and by a daughter Vickie Lynn McRoberts. Survivors include his wife of 72 years Margaret (Hinton) McRoberts; son: Samuel Ray (Janet) McRoberts of Fleming County; daughter: Debra (Tommy) Thompson of Fleming County; grandchildren: Scott McRoberts, Sherri (Tom) Duncan, Deyana (Jimmy) Crawford, Kelly McRoberts, Nikki (David) Whisman, Mindy Hickman, and Cody (Heather) Thompson; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren: Brandon McRoberts, Dustin McRoberts, Samantha Duncan, Shawn Duncan, Kayla Duncan, Aaron Harmon, Andrew Harmon, Tiffany Shrout, Zachary Edmond, Brittney Stacy, Autumn Harlow Stacy, Tyler Dailey, Connor Whisman, Ashley Maze Hickman, Braiden Hickman, Clay Thompson and Skylar Thompson. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday August 15, 2013 at the Boone Nickell funeral Home with Rev. Billy Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at the Muses Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
